Editorial and Safety Policy

How we publish

Our goal is to give readers a useful next step while making the limits of home troubleshooting clear.

Sources and review

Technical and safety claims are checked against relevant primary sources, manufacturer guidance, government information, universities, or qualified professional organizations when available.

A guide’s Last updated date records its most recent edit. It is not a claim that a trade professional inspected your situation or independently reviewed every instruction on that date. A visible update note may explain a substantive change. We may revise a guide when reliable guidance changes, a source needs correction, or the decision process can be made clearer.

Safety boundaries

We do not encourage readers to work on live electrical systems, gas connections, structural damage, serious water intrusion, large mold contamination, or dangerous chemical mixtures. Guides explain when to stop and seek qualified help.

Corrections

If a guide contains an error or unclear instruction, we will investigate it and correct the page when the evidence supports a change. Use the Contact page to send the guide’s address, the detail in question, and any supporting source. Do not send passwords, payment information, or other sensitive details.

How we use assisted tools

We may use AI-assisted tools to help draft text and create explanatory illustrations. Before publication, each guide is edited for clarity and checked against the sources listed on the page. Illustrations explain a concept and should not be treated as a photograph of a specific appliance, material, or result.
