AGA and La Cornue Dual-Fuel Range Recall: How to Check Your Model and What to Do Now

What to do if you own one of these ranges
- Shut off the gas supply. CPSC directs owners to shut off the range’s gas supply immediately. Do not test a burner or take the appliance apart.
- Open the lower storage drawer only as needed to read the rating plate. The model and serial number are on the bottom panel underneath the drawer. Do not remove appliance panels or reach into gas components.
- Use the official lookup. Enter the model and serial number on the AGA recall page or the La Cornue recall page.

The CPSC notice says the affected AGA ranges are 36- and 48-inch Elise and Mercury models. The affected La Cornue CornuFé ranges are 36- and 43-inch models. All colors, trim options, and Natural or LP gas configurations in the named model and production ranges are included in the CPSC description.
Can you still use the electric ovens?
Yes—but only the electric oven sections. CPSC says that, after the gas supply is shut off, owners can continue using the electric oven sections. The gas surface burners cannot be used. If you are uncertain which controls or sections are electric, stop using the range and call the recall line rather than guessing.
What is the hazard and the official remedy?
According to CPSC, a missing cap from the gas test port can allow a gas leak, creating a fire or explosion hazard.
